Global Network schools are selecting student representatives to connect with their peers and create student-driven initiatives beyond the classroom.

A new Global Network initiative will help students and their programs connect beyond the classroom. Schools from across the network are selecting student representatives to serve as Global Network ambassadors, promoting student-run clubs, programs, case competitions, and other events.

Camino de Paz, director of global initiatives at Yale School of Management, said that ambassadors will contribute to the future of the Global Network, shaping existing programs and recognizing new opportunities for collaboration.

“Initiatives can be shaped to individual students’ interests by leveraging the different strengths that are in the network,” de Paz said. “Ambassadors will ensure that the Global Network’s value proposition translates into tangible opportunities for students across the world to better prepare them to become global leaders who can thrive in diverse and complex contexts and help the business community to have a positive impact on society and the environment.”

The ambassador initiative allows students to focus on specific interests that appeal to them, such as entrepreneurship, finance, or sustainability, and work with corresponding clubs and groups at other member schools.

One student ambassador, Patrick Gonzalez Vergara at PUC-Chile, said that opening new channels for discussion with his peers will create further opportunities for current students and alumni’s projects and make relationships stronger.

“I think that the best result we can have is the sharing of ideas and lessons learned,” Vergara said. “With a such a diverse and talented group, I´m sure we will be sharing interesting thoughts on how to make the network even better.”
