Today’s environment is highly competitive; hence organisations are seeking innovative ways of creating and sustaining competitive advantage. Effective human resource management has been shown to be one. Therefore, managers must alter their perceptions of their employees and the working relationship in order to achieve competitive success through people. Instead of viewing people as expenses to be reduced or avoided, they must collaborate with them and consider them as partners. People as a source of competitive advantage are hard to copy.
