AI Strategy

Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming how organisations compete, innovate and create value, making it an essential topic for today’s globally minded leaders. In their 2025 State of AI Report, McKinsey and Co indicate that over 75% of organisations have adopted AI in at least one business function. With more companies worldwide integrating AI into their organisations, the question for future leaders is no longer if AI should be part of strategy, rather how to make it work in practice. Yet, despite AI’s rapid uptake, many leaders face challenges in aligning AI with their organisation’s strategic goals, balancing innovation with ethical considerations and navigating the complexities of scaling AI responsibly. The AI Strategy course at AGSM offers Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM) students an opportunity to explore these critical issues in an immersive, interactive learning environment. Designed for MBA students seeking to expand their strategic thinking beyond technical implementation, this course blends academic insight with practical application to help students understand AI’s role in shaping strategic decisions, organisational design and leadership priorities. Through a mix of guest speakers, case studies, experiential activities, and reflective discussions, students will examine the opportunities and limitations of AI strategy from multiple perspectives. The course encourages critical inquiry into the ethical, social and business implications of AI while also fostering collaborative learning across diverse international peers. Ideal for students who aspire to lead responsibly in an AI-driven world, this course equips participants with a foundational understanding of AI strategy, helping them engage thoughtfully and confidently with the challenges and opportunities AI presents for organisations globally.
