Leadership in the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem

In this 5-day program designed to enhance leadership skills, participants will experience a unique perspective of entrepreneurial activities in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China. All organizations, including non-profits and government agencies, are eagerly seeking individuals who can inspire and lead initiatives for growth. The mindset and skills of such leaders can be learned from entrepreneurs and corporate executives who have been initiators of change, even “intrapreneurs”. A particular feature of this program will be visits and meetings with organizations and companies in Hong Kong and Shenzhen to experience first-hand the diversity of people and relationships in these ecosystems.

(2) What makes the Pearl River Delta special (“Entrepreneur Gene”)?

(3) Family Business Transitions

(4) The Ecosystem of Tech Startups

(5) Role of Government

(6) Social Entrepreneurship

(7) The Entrepreneurial Mindset = Leadership

(2) Cyberport – Government incubator/R&D facilities

(3) Hong Kong Science Park - Government incubator/R&D facilities

(4) Research Institute for Logistics & Supply Chain Management (LSCM) – Government applied research center

(5) blueprint/CoCoon/Metta – Private co-working spaces (Swire Properties is a corporate sponsor of entrepreneurship at blueprint)

(6) Social enterprise (TBD)

 

Shenzhen (day-trip)

(1) Qianhai – Government R&D/Hi-Tech Industrial Park

(2) HAX – World’s largest and most successful incubator/accelerator for hardware startups

(3) DJI – HKUST’s most famous “spin-off” and “unicorn” (company valued at more than one billion US dollars)

(4) Major corporation (Huawei, Tencent, other?)
