An Interview with Yale SOM's Student Ambassador

Yale SOM spoke with its first student ambassador to discuss his plans for collaborating with student leaders across the Global Network.

Yale School of Management’s first Global Network Ambassador, Vaibhav Desai, spoke with the school about his ideas for connecting more students across the Network to work together on projects and connect clubs with similar interests. Desai, one of the 28 new ambassadors, said he wants to get students involved beyond Network Weeks. 

I want to ensure that everyone has a common understanding of what the network is and what it can be; it’s not just a five-day program. The network is more about how you can continuously engage with and learn from cultures and people with different perspectives. One of the things I can do is find what the common interests are among students here at Yale and elsewhere. Maybe there’s a finance, marketing, or nonprofit club at another school that we can make connections with. Perhaps there are students here that want to go work in India or Singapore, or vice versa. I want to help with that exchange of ideas at a club level.
